Dr. Rikki Priest is a newly fellowed GP Obstetrician and Academic working clinically at Cockburn Medical Centre and King Edward Memorial Hospital and a Senior Lecturer at The University of Notre Dame Fremantle. She is a mother to two kids (6&7yo) and partner to tradie husband Jason.

Rikki is a vibrant speaker, educator and professional coach.

She hosts workshops for doctors and medical students on motivational interviewing and behaviour change and does advocacy work with Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Australia and the Doctors' Health Advisory Service of Western Australia.

Her current mixed methods research focus is on
1) How GPs can work with expecting families to plan for better support beyond birth
2) What are the research priorities for Doctors' Health in Australia and New Zealand?

She LOVES cheese and HATES running and often wishes the reverse were true.

Associate Professor John Pyne is a University of Sydney medical graduate. He holds a Master of Medicine (Skin Cancer) degree and PhD (Thesis on dermoscopy-histopathology correlations in BCC and SCC) from the University of Queensland. Assoc. Prof. Pyne has previous appointments at the Melanoma Unit, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and Skin Cancer Clinic, St George Private Hospital, Sydney. He Is a Fellow and past President of the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. Assoc. Prof. Pyne has previously held the position of Program Director for the Master of Medicine (Skin Cancer) degree at the University of Queensland.

His professional interests involve the early diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, with an emphasis on dermoscopy-histopathology correlations

Dr Ramya Raman is a  specialist general practitioner and Director of The Garden Family Medical Clinic (Piara Waters) in Perth, WA, with a focus on women’s and children’s health, especially perinatal wellbeing. Jenni is a GP registrar working at the University of Melbourne and in general practice in the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Prior to studying medicine, Jenni completed a Master's degree in Biochemistry and Immunology and a PhD in Marine Microbiology. Joel is the Head of the Discipline of General Practice at UNSW Medicine. She also advises the health minister as a member of the BBV and STIs ministerial advisory committee. Lara has a particular interest in Women’s Health and cervical cancer prevention and works with the ACPCC as a Senior Medical Educator.

Professor Cliff Rosendahl is a GP of over 45 years' experience, with a background in rural general practice and forensic medicine. His PhD project was in the field of skin cancer, particularly melanoma.

Prof. Rosendahl is a course coordinator in the UQ Skin Cancer Program at The University of Queensland He has published more than 80 papers in peer-reviewed journals and has authored two textbooks on dermatoscopy, one of which has been published in eight languages. Prof. Rosendahl enjoys speaking to GP groups In Australia and GPs and dermatologists Internationally.

Biography

Bianca is a Registered Midwife with a diverse background in clinical practice and research. She has extensive experience providing midwifery care to women and their families in various models of care. Dedicated to continuity of care, Bianca has worked closely with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, supporting them throughout the antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods.

Recently, Bianca contributed to an Australian-first randomised controlled trial using Sildenafil during labour, aimed at reducing fetal distress and improving birth outcomes for mothers and babies.

Since joining the Stillbirth CRE, Bianca has been leading the Timing of Birth Pilot Study. Through her clinical and research roles, she is dedicated to advancing midwifery practice and making a positive impact on the lives of women and their families.

Amber-Jade Sanderson

Biography

The Hon. Amber-Jade Sanderson is Western Australia’s Minister for Health and Mental Health.

First elected to WA Parliament in 2013 for the East Metropolitan Region, she then went on to win the lower house seat of Morley in 2017.

In the McGowan Government’s first term, she served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier; Minister for Public Sector Management; State Development, Jobs and Trade; Federal-State Relations; Parliamentary Secretary of the Cabinet.

Amber-Jade was crucial in delivering Western Australia’s Voluntary Assisted Dying laws. As the Chair of the Joint Select Committee on End of Life Choices she oversaw extensive community consultation, a year-long parliamentary inquiry and debate, and finally the passing of the Voluntary Assisted Dying Bill.

On 21 December, Amber-Jade Sanderson was sworn in as Minister for Health; Mental Health. Prior to this she was the Minister for Environment; Climate Action; Commerce.

Before entering Parliament, she was Assistant Secretary at United Voice and remains passionate about the protection of working people’s rights.

She holds a BA (Journalism) and lives in Bayswater with her partner Philip and her two children.

Dr Julia Sarant is a Professor in Audiology in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences at The University of Melbourne. She has 30+ years of experience in hearing loss related research and leads the Hearing Loss and Cognition Program in the Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology.
Julia’s research program includes work on:
• whether hearing intervention use can delay cognitive decline/dementia
• medical comorbidities and markers/predictors of hearing loss
• barriers to GP referral for hearing care and hearing aid uptake and use
• barriers to hearing aid take-up and use
• developing behavioural interventions to address these barriers
• health economics evaluations of the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of interventions
