Abstract:Globally, chronic kidney disease (CKD) is an under recognised and under treated condition, placing a significant burden on health systems world-wide. The prevalence of CKD is expected to increase, this is, in part, due to a rise in risk factors and associated co-morbidities that lead to complex management issues2. Primary Care Physicians are uniquely placed to impact patient outcomes through early diagnosis and implementation of guideline directed medical therapy.
Overview: This session will explore current disease burden, practical approaches to early detection in primary care and how implementation of recent international guidelines can have the potential to transform the patient journey.

Dr Paul De Ieso, Radiation Oncologist, Icon Cancer Centre. Special Guest Speaker Profile
Dr. Paul De Ieso is an experienced radiation oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre in Mulgrave, Richmond, Freemasons, and Moreland. He holds an MBBS degree, became a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists in 2009, and specializes in skin cancer, breast cancer, head and neck cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, urological cancers, and soft tissue sarcomas. Dr. De Ieso is committed to utilizing advanced radiation therapy techniques to optimize patient outcomes and minimize side effects.
