RACGP evidence based clinical guidelines: what is new and popular?

11:30 AM - 12:30 PM

Summary

A new edition of the RACGP’s internationally recognised and utilised Red book (Guidelines for preventive activities in general practice) is due for release in early 2024. This presentation will focus on the important changes and a new practical format, which will help GPs make effective evidence-based screening, case finding and prevention decisions with their patients.

We will also explore the world’s first Handbook of Non-Drug Interventions (HANIDI) and examine use of its entries in clinical practice and how they can be “prescribed”.

Lastly, we will explore our new First do no Harm guide and what makes it unique from other clinical resources available to GPs. As a consumer representative, Dr Christine Walker will provide a unique insight into how this guide will help patients make fully informed decisions about their healthcare.
