60min clinical workshop | The workshop will explore this dynamic and participants will use examples to recognise and manage it, to improve training outcomes. The skills learnt in this workshop can be utilised in clinical scenarios involving patients as well.
Learning Outcomes
- Identify the components of the Karpman drama triangle in difficult GP training situations.
- Summarise the skills required to manage a drama triangle to bring it to a resolution.

Victim, Persecutor and Rescuer: understanding the Karpman drama triangle in GP training.
Biography
Dr Colleen Bradford is the Regional Director of Training for WA for the RACGP. Prior to transition she worked as the Director of Training for WAGPET. She is a life member of the RACGP and the 2019 recipient of the Sam Bada medical education award WA. Colleen has been working in medical education for 30 years and has practiced in the Solomon Islands, Western Sahara and East Timor. Following her graduation from UWA she worked for the ADF as a military medical officer rising to the rank of Colonel. Her general practice experience includes practicing in rural NSW and the ACT before returning to WA in 2006. Currently she is practising in Mt Lawley.
