Presentation outline;
When something is outmoded, it’s time for an upgrade. The reset required in general practice will ensure a healthy, viable and sustainable workforce capable of meeting the future healthcare needs of patients, and requires a three-pronged approach.
- You cannot serve from an empty vessel.
- We must focus on prevention first.
- GPs are no longer the Lone Rangers of yesteryear.

Biography
Dr Jenny Brockis MB ChB (Brist) FASLM
As a child, Jenny’s favourite story was Rudyard Kipling’s “How the Elephant Got His Trunk.”
Just like the elephant, she is insatiably curious about the what and why of everything, especially why we think and behave the way we do. She understands that while intentions can be good, implementing sustainable and enduring behavioural change can be tricky.
A former GP who established her own highly successful group medical practice in Perth, West Australia, Jenny is a Board-Certified Lifestyle Medicine Physician and works as an independent workplace health and wellbeing consultant. She obtained her Fellowship in Lifestyle Medicine in 2019 and is a non-executive director on the ASLM Board.
She is an award-winning speaker and best-selling author of five books including “The Natural Advantage” and remains curious to know, “What keeps you well and working at your best?”
