60min clinical workshop | As part of creating a rewarding educational alliance between a supervisor and their registrar, the provision of feedback is integral to the learning process. Constructive and effective feedback allows the learner to reinforce positive aspects of their competency and make improvements to clinical performance. This interactive workshop will educate supervisors on the principles of feedback and how to utilise them effectively with their registrars.

Learner Centred Feedback – Moving beyond the ‘feedback sandwich’
Biography
Dr Awyong is a Regional Medical Educator, GP supervisor and GP preceptor for Notre Dame medical students.
She completed her medical degree at the University of Western Australia in 2006 and enjoyed gaining hospital experience in multiple medical specialties. She also undertook a role as a Medical Education Registrar for 12 months within the hospital system and delivered medical education to junior medical officers and medical students.
She completed her General Practice training, attained fellowship with the Royal College of General Practitioners (RACGP) in 2017 and has continued to pursue her special interest in Medical Education.
She joined the RACGP this year as a Regional Medical Educator with the portfolio of Supervisor Professional Development and is dedicated to supporting GP supervisors in cultivating a positive training environment for the future of General Practice.

Learner Centred Feedback – Moving beyond the ‘feedback sandwich’
Biography
Dr Vasey has had over two decades of experience as a GP. She studied at the University of Wales College of Medicine in the United Kingdom, graduating in 1994.
She then completed general practice training and was granted Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners UK in 1998. She took up a partnership at her training practice and then worked as a GP Principal in the UK for the next ten years.
In 2010 she immigrated to Perth where she was granted Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Dr Vasey is a RACGP accredited GP Supervisor and GP preceptor for UWA medical students.
She has a special interest in medical education and has been regional medical educator for the Wheatbelt region of WA since 2019.
This year she has been involved in the delivery of Supervisor Professional Development and is committed to upskilling our GP supervisors in their role nurturing our next generation of general practitioners.
