60min clinical workshop | This workshop will explore participants’ experiences with virtual care and telehealth, and guide discussions on the evidence, utility and safety of the various modalities. Case studies from the virtual hospital and general practice environments will be used to stimulate consideration of the benefits and pitfalls of virtual care and how this could benefit GPs and primary care in Australia.

Biography
Dr Owen Hutchings, Clinical Director and Research Lead, RPA Virtual Hospital is a Hospital Generalist and Fellow of the Australian College of General Practitioners. Owen has extensive experience consulting patients in hospital based Urgent Care and acute General Practice environments including Hospital in The Home to provide hospital type care to people in the community. He has proven success in clinical leadership and establishing innovative models which integrate care between inpatient hospital and outpatient community settings in collaboration with Primary Care. This includes the use of Digital and Virtual Health. RPA Virtual Hospital as the first Virtual Hospital in Australia performed a pivotal lead role in the response to COVID-19.

Biography
Dr Winston Lo has been a community GP for 20 years, and is experienced in delivering virtual healthcare to vulnerable communities including refugees/asylum seekers, adolescents with mental illness, prisoners, parents with unsettled babies. He is a Senior Lecturer with Western Sydney University.

Biography
Dr Sasha Mathias is an Extended Skills GP Registrar currently working in RPA Virtual Hospital and community general practice.
She has previously worked in Emergency Medicine and enjoys the breadth and intersection of both disciplines in urgent care settings, and the challenges of complex and chronic care.
Dr Sasha is passionate about virtual care, and particularly it's use and development in the community setting.
In her current roles she has been able to observe the value of integration between community and inpatient care, and the function that virtual care holds in this space.

Dr Shannon Saad
Staff Specialist, RPA Virtual Hospital, Sydney Local Health District.
Shannon is a community General Practitioner and Staff Specialist in Virtual Healthcare in Sydney. She has extensive experience in teaching and research in medical education, including the fields of Healthcare Communication, Clinical Skills and Clinical Assessment.
