Dr Colleen Bradford

Biography
Dr Colleen Bradford is the Regional Director of Training for WA for the RACGP. Prior to transition she worked as the Director of Training for WAGPET. She is a life member of the RACGP and the 2019 recipient of the Sam Bada medical education award WA. Colleen has been working in medical education for 30 years and has practiced in the Solomon Islands, Western Sahara and East Timor. Following her graduation from UWA she worked for the ADF as a military medical officer rising to the rank of Colonel. Her general practice experience includes practicing in rural NSW and the ACT before returning to WA in 2006. Currently she is practising in Mt Lawley.

Biography
Associate Professor Lewis MacKinnon is a GP and medical educator based in Perth, Western Australia. He is the Director of General Practice and Clinical Adjuncts at Curtin Medical School, Senior ME with RACGP training and a practising GP at Skye Medical Armadale and Canning Vale.
With extensive experience in supervising GP registrars, Lewis combines clinical expertise with a passion for sustainable healthcare and innovative medical education. He holds leadership roles, including with the North Metropolitan Health Service board, and contributes to research on chronic disease management and training models in general practice.
Lewis is known for his practical and engaging teaching style. In this session, he shares strategies for managing registrars in difficulty, supporting high performers, and balancing clinical and teaching commitments, drawing on his years of experience as a supervisor and mentor.
Dr Sharon Vasey

Biography
Dr Vasey has had over two decades of experience as a GP. She studied at the University of Wales College of Medicine in the United Kingdom, graduating in 1994.
She then completed general practice training and was granted Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners UK in 1998. She took up a partnership at her training practice and then worked as a GP Principal in the UK for the next ten years.
In 2010 she immigrated to Perth where she was granted Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Dr Vasey is a RACGP accredited GP Supervisor and GP preceptor for UWA medical students.
She has a special interest in medical education and has been regional medical educator for the Wheatbelt region of WA since 2019.
This year she has been involved in the delivery of Supervisor Professional Development and is committed to upskilling our GP supervisors in their role nurturing our next generation of general practitioners.
