Biography

Anita Munoz is a GP in private practice in Melbourne's CBD, and has dedicated to evidence-based medicine, lifelong learning and promoting the role of general practice in the health of patients, communities and in public health.
Dr Munoz worked as a clinical editor and clinical advisor for six years with North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network, where she developed a passion for health system improvement, innovation, sustainability and equity. She sees general practice as the key to a rational health system that produces better outcomes for patients and practitioners.
Dr Munoz has held advisory positions with Better Care Victoria and Safer Care Victoria, and has been medical educator for over 10years. She is particularly preoccupied with the wellbeing and experience of GPs in training, and in the development of a high-quality general practice workforce for the future.

Sophie Piron has been Business Manager at Adelaide City General Practice since 2010 - a mixed billing practice with a varied patient base including university students, city workers, asylum seekers and refugees, tourists and residents of the city and the wider metropolitan area. The practice provides outreach clinics to an aged care disability service and a centre for homeless people. The practice is passionate about social justice and Sophie’s role as manager is to ensure a viable business whilst continuing to provide quality services to disadvantaged people in the community. The practice is a teaching practice and is regularly involved in research. Sophie holds a Degree in Speech Pathology and a Master in Business Administration. Sophie has been an active member of the AAPM SA/NT State Committee for the past 6 years and is an AGPAL General Practice accreditation co-surveyor. Prior to her work in General Practice Sophie owned her own consultancy in country South Australia providing a range of services to the local community and Local Government including the establishment of a Natural Resource Centre, a not for profit organisation, which she went on to manage for 13 years. For over 35 years Sophie has had a passionate interest in environmental issues, with a particular focus on the impact which individual actions can have in addressing Climate Change. Sophie is a member of the Climate Reality Project, having trained under Al Gore in raising awareness about climate change and advocating for action.

Biography

Dr Ramya Raman is a  specialist general practitioner and Director of The Garden Family Medical Clinic (Piara Waters) in Perth, WA, with a focus on women’s and children’s health, especially perinatal wellbeing. She received the 2020 Aspire Award to present her postnatal recovery research at WONCA Asia Pacific. As Discipline Head of General Practice at The University of Notre Dame’s School of Medicine, Fremantle, she promotes GP training and education. She has also served as a clinical supervisor and examiner for RACGP. Ramya has published research in peer-reviewed journals and was RACGP WA’s 2020 GP of the Year. Currently, Ramya is the Chair of RACGP WA, she was also selected as a delegate for the Australian Indian Youth Dialogue in 2023, a McKinsey Raising Leaders Forum scholar in 2022, and awarded the 2024 AMA WA Advocate of the Year.

Brooke Shelly is a rural Victorian pharmacist with a dynamic portfolio career spanning general practice, consultant pharmacy, education, governance and national advocacy. As a GP Pharmacist and Credentialed Consultant Pharmacist at Ontario Medical Clinic—an award-winning teaching practice—Brooke works closely with GPs and registrars to improve chronic disease management and optimise medication use.
A 2024 PSA Fellow and National Consultant Pharmacist of the Year, Brooke also serves as an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at La Trobe Rural Health School and holds leadership roles with the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia, Pharmacy Support Services, and the Murray PHN Clinical Advisory Council. She is on the Advisory Network for the National Rural Health Commissioner.
Passionate about rural health equity and sustainable models of care, Brooke champions the role of non-dispensing pharmacists in general practice and is at the forefront of national advocacy efforts to support multidisciplinary primary care teams.

He has been involved in the management of general practice since 1985 and has taken a keen interest in the operation of general practice and the major organisations which influence and shape general practice in Australia. Mr Smith is currently a Director with the Australian General Practice Accreditation Ltd (AGPAL), Chair of Quality Innovation Performance Limited (QIP), Board Member of General Practice Workforce Tasmania, Chair of Client Focused Evaluation Program (CFEP) Australia, Chair of Wentworth Healthcare Board and Board Member of Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organisations (CAHO), India. Mr Smith has extensive representation on relevant Commonwealth and State Government Advisory Boards, Working Parties and task groups and relevant healthcare industry committees nationally and internationally, which allows him to contribute to the shape and delivery of healthcare in Australia. He has been a Surveyor with ISQua since 2010. In 2021, Mr Smith was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Letters honoris causa by the University of New England (UNE), in recognition of his distinguished service of UNE Partnerships and to the professionalisation of the field of medical practice management for the past 30 years. In 2023 he was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for significant service to medical administration, and to professional organisations.

Shayne Sutton

Shayne is an experienced public and private sector leader. She’s held several senior roles including with Australia’s largest local government, the Brisbane City Council, as the inaugural Chief Executive of the North Queensland Regional Organisation of Councils and in Director and Associate Director roles for national consultancy firms Hawker Britton and SAS Group.

Shayne’s also served as a Non-Executive Director of Townsville Hospital and Health Services Board, and as a specialist advisor for the Queensland Government and the Local Government Association of Queensland.

She’s an expert in stakeholder management, advocacy, government relations, process improvement, risk management and public affairs. She has experience in navigating and shaping public policy and developing award winning advocacy plans.
