Details
This session will explore the significant 2025 changes to Australia’s Privacy Act and their impact on healthcare providers. With the removal of the small business exemption, all practices—regardless of size—must now meet the same privacy and data protection standards as larger organisations. The session will cover new obligations around data security, consent, and compliance, highlighting the increased responsibilities for general and specialist practices. Attendees will gain a clear understanding of the legislative changes and practical guidance on how to prepare, including steps to update policies, train staff, and implement systems that ensure ongoing compliance with the updated Privacy Act.
