Biography
Chris Smeed is a passionate health tech founder and former practice manager with more than a decade of experience helping clinics unlock the power of their data. He is the founder and CEO of Cubiko, a Brisbane-based company supporting general practices and dental clinics to run smarter, more sustainable businesses—while ultimately improving patient care.
Cubiko includes its core insights platform, designed to support day-to-day operations, and Cubiko Calculate, a simple and accurate service fee tool that gives practices the flexibility and confidence to manage even the most complex GP fee arrangements.
Chris is also the founder and director of Halo Connect, focused on solving one of healthcare’s biggest challenges: secure, seamless interoperability between clinical systems. He brings hands-on knowledge from his time as a practice manager and RACGP surveyor, giving him a deep understanding of the challenges practices face on the ground.
He also co-hosts the Medicubes podcast, spotlighting bold ideas and real stories from the frontlines of general practice. Chris is a regular speaker on digital innovation in healthcare—and often says he’s one of the luckiest people in the world, getting to spend his days working with passionate, dedicated practices right across Australia.
