Details
This session will provide information on the alternative models of supervision that are available to support the provision of general practice training in areas of workforce need in rural and remote areas and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health services. The innovative framework developed by the RACGP ensures registrars and supervisors are well supported as evidenced by the case studies that will be presented as part of this session and drawing on this 2025 paper: A qualitative evaluation of remote supervision guidelines for Australian general practice registrars in two practice locations.
This session is about helping rural and remote practices to build sustainable and diverse workforce through supervision models that involve the multidisciplinary team to recruit and train rural GPs. Practitioner wellbeing is enhanced through the provision of high-quality general practice training using innovative supervision models to overcome the barriers for practices with limited supervision capacity.
