Professor Zwar has a national and international reputation in health services research research for prevention and management of chronic illness with a focus on chronic respiratory disease and tobacco control as well as collaborating in projects in prevention in practice, teamwork, cardiovascular disease, stroke and diabetes. His work on chronic disease care planning in general practice and on asthma care has had an important influence on Australian health care policy.
