Biography

Associate Professor Vicki Kotsirilos AM - is a respected Melbourne-based GP with many years of clinical experience, who emphasises the importance of lifestyle and preventative medicine with her patients. Associate Professor Kotsirilos was Australia's first GP Authorised Prescriber of medical cannabis. She has successfully prescribed medical cannabis for patients suffering chronic pain after other treatments have failed. In general, Associate Professor Kotsirilos has found medical cannabis to be a safe and effective therapy in the context of a holistic multi-disciplinary approach.

Debbie Rigby is an Advanced Practice Pharmacist from Brisbane. She has postgraduate qualifications in Clinical Pharmacy, and Certification in Geriatric Pharmacy and as an Asthma Educator. Debbie is a Director on the NPS MedicineWise Board, Visiting Fellow at QUT, and Adjunct Associate Professor at The University of Queensland. Debbie is also Head of Education for MedReleaf Australia.

Dr Lisa Nissen is an experienced Pharmacy Practitioner, researcher and educator, having worked in hospital and community pharmacies in metropolitan and rural areas of Australia. Her focus is on improving the Quality Use of Medicines in the wider community, across the healthcare continuum, and with a focus on health service development and factors that influence the prescribing of medicines. She has been a key expert adviser in the development of the National Prescribing Competencies Framework and the Health Professionals Prescribing Pathway. She is also Head of Research for MedReleaf Australia.

Sophia Palmer Senior Pharmacist of TGA will be providing a live demontration of SAS.
