Abstract

Biography

Professor Andrew Sindone (B.Med (hons), MD, FRACP, FCSANZ) Director Heart Failure Unit and Department of Cardiac Rehabilitation Concord Hospital. Professor Sindone has been involved cardiac research, teaching and improving the lives of those living with cardiovascular disease for over twenty years. He set up the Heart Failure Unit at Concord Hospital with the Heart Failure Clinic, research, rehabilitation and outreach programs. Professor Sindone has been Principal Investigator in twenty-eight international multicentre clinical trials and has presented over eighty research papers at national and international conferences and continues to publish in the area of cardiovascular disease. He is involved in many committees, aiming to improve the delivery of care to cardiac patients. Professor Sindone is co-author of the Australian Guidelines for the Management of Heart Failure. He also assists the Italian Community in education and support of those with heart disease as well as being patron of multiple charities.
