Medical care of older persons in residential aged care facilities, a publication commonly known as the Silver Book, is one of the RACGP’s flagship clinical resources. First developed more than 20 years ago as a brief 17-page manual, there have been four editions to date. The 2006 edition was developed by a taskforce made up of approximately 20 stakeholders. While the resource doubled in size from the third to fourth editions, much of the content is now out-of-date. Update on the fifth edition is currently underway, and members of the Silver Book Expert Advisory Group would like to present the project’s progress to date. The Silver Book Expert Advisory Group would also like to receive feedback and comments for the update.
