Associate Professor David Colquhoun is a cardiologist who has been in private practice in Queensland for more than 30 years. He has been involved in research in the fields of cardiology, lipids, nutrition, diabetes, obesity, nutraceutical and psychological aspects of heart disease. His private clinical research unit, Core Research, is currently active in 20 trials. He has been the Australian lead investigator in a number of trials. A/Prof Colquhoun has been the AMA spokesperson for Cardiology in Queensland. He is the President of the Queensland branch of the National Heart Foundation of Australia (NHFA); a member of the Scientific Committee of the National Institute of Complementary Medicine (NICM); a member of the Scientific Committee of the Gallipoli Medical Research Foundation (GMRF) based at Greenslopes Private Hospital; and Co-Chair of the Preventive Cardiology Council of the Cardiac Society of Australian and New Zealand (CSANZ).
