Basic short arm backslab/casting workshop for GPs
Details
This session will cover Basic Backslab/Casting for Distal Arm fractures and sprains requiring immobilisation, that GPs will encounter at their Practice. Such fractures include: distal radius/ulna, Colles, Ulna Styloid etc.
This will be followed by GP hands on participation. Your chance to update new techniques, gain experience and practice your skills, in procedures you perform within your Practice. Please note that approximately 20 delegates will be participating in the hands on component while others observe.

Steve is the Plaster Services Supervisor at Redcliffe Hospital, holding Certificate IV in Cast Technology. He has been an Orthopaedic Cast Technician for the past 13 years, working at various Hospitals throughout the state both Public and Private.
Steve regularly conducts education sessions on many aspects of casting for Doctors within Queensland Health.
Steve keeps his own personal skills up to date working within the Specialist Outpatients and Emergency Departments, as well as applying specialised casting within the Operating Theatres of Redcliffe Hospital.
